NAUSHIRA PANDYA M.D., CMD, FACP
Dr. Naushira Pandya is Professor and Chair of the Geriatrics Department at NSU, Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Project Director of the HRSA funded NSU South Florida Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP). She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Endocrinology and Metabolism, and is a certified medical director and a geriatrics fellowship program director. At a state level, she is First Vice President of the Broward County Area Agency on Aging, and past board member of the Florida Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, and remains active in governance issues affecting the post-acute long-term setting. Dr. Pandya is Past President of AMDA, the national Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, and past chair of the interdisciplinary Clinical Practice Committee. She has participated and led in the development of multiple clinical guidelines and position statements, and is a recognized for her work in the area of diabetes in the elderly, as well as best practices in the long-term care continuum. On a national level, she participated as a panelist in the White House Conference on Aging, and in the White House Conference on Antibiotic Stewardship, and served on Physician’s Advisory Committee for the National Quality Forum, and as a member of College of Surgery Coalition for Quality in Geriatric Surgery. Dr. Pandya holds the distinction of being a Fulbright Senior Specialist Scholar.
